Expert Heating & Cooling’s continued growth has the company on the move to a larger location once again.
Founded in downtown Trenton in the mid-1970s, Expert somewhat reluctantly left the location where it began and moved to a larger spot on Allen Road in Woodhaven in 2005.
A few years later it acquired a second location in Canton.
As of this month though, the company has a new home base on North Line Road in Taylor — in a larger, 21,000-square-foot building that should provide adequate space for continued growth for several years to come.
Owner Mark Angellotti said all company operations eventually will be consolidated at the new facility, which is located at 24400 North Line, just west of Telegraph, and will be the site of a special grand opening celebration from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. May 31, and from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. June 1.
“We are growing and we have outgrown our Allen Road location due to the number of deliveries that clog up traffic and the lack of storage,” Angellotti said. “Our Canton office has been well received but managing inventory and staff for two locations has not come together as I had hoped.”
He said both the Canton and Woodhaven buildings are up for sale.
“The new facility is larger than we currently need but will allow us to continue our mission to serve a wider geographic region,” he said.
Despite the steady progression of locations farther away from its point of origin in Trenton, Angellotti, a Riverview resident, still views Expert as a Trenton business at heart.
“Even though we have been in Woodhaven for the past seven years, we still consider ourselves a Trenton business,” he said. “The company was started in downtown Trenton in 1975 and remained there for 31 years. Our customer data base is dominated by the loyal customers in Trenton.
“Mostly, though, our company values mirror the values of most Trenton homeowners. They expect timely quality service and that’s what we deliver. I will remain a Trenton Rotarian so that Expert Heating and Cooling and my family can continue to contribute to such a great city.”
Angellotti said the process of finding an appropriate location and making the move was a two-year process.
“We needed an industrial-zoned site with commercial road frontage so that our walk-in customers can find us easily,” he said. “We were fortunate to find that and despite having to make several improvements to meet current codes, Taylor has been very welcoming. Trenton residents can rest assured that our response time will not change. When they have a problem, 676-4488 is all they need to know.”
The grand opening is open to the public and will feature free hot dogs and special savings for the first 50 customers that stop in.
