Trenton High School is having a very busy month while wrapping up the first trimester and planning to start the second trimester. Fall sports are coming to a close and winter sports are beginning. As students prepare for finals week, they are also taking the time to give back to the community during the Goodfellows Canned Food Drive — both put on by THS Student Council.
As the girls swim team prepares for States, the boys swim team season is just beginning, amongst other sports such as basketball, competitive cheer, hockey, wrestling, and bowling. The girls swim team brought their season to a close at the Division Three State Meet on Nov. 17 and 18.
Many students are not only involved in sports, but also involved in Student Council, Interact Club, and National Honors Society. All of these organizations are working together to help the community.
In order to get a head start, the high school students collected cans. The Goodfellows Canned Food Drive began on Nov. 27 in order to compete with the rest of the district for an early release before the winter break.
Rake a Difference was held on Nov. 18, when students assisted members of the community who needed help with their leaves by raking their lawns.
As the first trimester is coming to a close, THS students, faculty and staff look forward to a new trimester and all that it has to bring.
