Carlson High School in Gibraltar last month was the site of the eighth annual World Wetlands Day. The conservation-minded event started as a collaboration with the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. The goal is to spark excitement about our local wetlands and wildlife refuges, connecting them to the community.
Open to the public, Carlson’s gymnasium was filled with students, sponsors and support: local hunting groups, chiefs from the Wyandot of Anderdon Nation, the Ann Arbor Leslie Science and Nature Center, a display from the Grosse Ile Take-It-Outside photo contest, and many others. [Read more…]
