BY KATHY KANE
This month’s Interesting Neighbor is one creative person. Her talent for art and compassion is felt by her family and many in our community. She also loves to bake, which is just one of several sweet benefits of knowing Cindi Mazurek.
KK: Have you always lived in Trenton?
Cindi Mazurek: Yes, I was born and raised here for the past 53 years. I was particularly thrilled after I married my husband, Dennis, and bought our home close to where I grew up. I am also grateful that our children, Sara and Adam, were also able to grow up here and that our wonder dog, Charlie Rose, can enjoy the neighborhood, too.
KK: What do you like the most about living in Trenton?
Mazurek: I love that I can ride my bike anywhere around town. It’s a safe place. I enjoy walking Charlie around town and I just feel “at home.”
KK: What are you most passionate about?
Mazurek: I have a passion for so many things! I love to bake and create for family and friends, especially cake pops, cookies and unique cakes. Everything I make is low sugar fresh and preservative free. I enjoy gardening and taking care of my perennials and planting flowers in the spring time around my home. I am a HUGE “Do it Yourselfer.” I love to re-purpose things and create new masterpieces out of them. I enjoy creating jewelry, painting, reading and taking care of my family, which includes decorating for every holiday!
KK: What is something that people may not know about you?
Mazurek: That would be that I sold a piece of my artwork in a gallery in Birmingham, Mich., right out of college. I was so very proud of that.
KK: What would your neighbors say about you?
Mazurek: That I always have time to stop and chat, I help out when needed and I am always smiling!
