Two Trenton links in the Downriver Linked Greenways Initiative are being paved, and should be done by the end of October, completing a continuous path to the I-94 and I-275 corridors.
There are two parts to the local path, which together meander along West Jefferson Avenue from the entrance of Elizabeth Park south to Humbug Marsh, part of the U. S. Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge.
Anita Twardesky of DGLI, who was among those proposing the system in the 1990s, is thrilled with the most recent development.
“It looks amazing,” said Twardesky. “It is so exciting for those who will use it and for the economic boom it presents to the region.”
