If you attended the theatre production of Suessical at the Trenton Village Theatre in November, you were treated to a variety of characters from the beloved children’s books as well as the talents of this year’s latest crop of Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center stars.
The master of ceremonies, DYPAC President Noel Jackson, tied the production together as the theme from Horton Hears a Who was, “that everyone matters, no matter how small.”
Jackson introduced several people who exemplify caring about others. Audience members from the Taylor Rotary Larry and Sarah Wright flew back from New York the night before to attend the Dr. Suess production. They were honored the day before at the United Nations where they received a business excellence award for leadership with the Launch Detroit Program. Jackson also recognized their own cast member, 10-year-old Rudy Washington, who is collecting socks for the homeless for a second year. [Read more…]
