The AAUW Wyandotte-Downriver Branch of the AAUW will host Betty Priskorn, vice president of Community Health & Outreach at Beaumont Health, at its regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 10 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2441 Nichols St. in Trenton. The free program is open to the public and begins at 7 p.m., preceded by a mill-around with refreshments and beverages starting at 6:30.
Priskorn will relate her extensive influence on community-based healthcare programming in our area, and the important part that women have contributed to her accomplishments. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, approximately 80 percent of all family health care decisions are made by women. When it comes to their own health care, women face unique challenges. Beaumont Trenton’s new president, Christine Stesney-Ridenour, was the featured speaker at the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber’s Women of Achievement breakfast, held last month at Bentley Banquet & Conference Center in Wyandotte.
Stesney-Ridenour was introduced by Betty Priskorn, vice president of community outreach for the hospital, who also welcomed Debbie Dingell and Healthy Trenton and Healthy Taylor coalition members to the event. [Read more…]
Beaumont Trenton’s new president, Christine Stesney-Ridenour, will be the featured speaker at the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber’s next Women of Achievement breakfast, set for 8:30-10:30 a.m. October 19 at Bentley Banquet & Conference Center, 646 Biddle Ave. Wyandotte.
The $25 a person cost includes networking and breakfast.
A resident of Troy, Stesney-Ridenour joins the Trenton team from Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, where she served as vice president and chief operating officer since January 2008. At Grosse Pointe, she was responsible for daily operations, including direct reporting responsibility for Cardiovascular Services, Emergency Center, Surgical Services, Trauma and Care Management.
Stesney-Ridenour was also part of the inaugural administrative team that transitioned the former Bon Secours hospital to Beaumont, Grosse Pointe, and was instrumental in the development of the initial five-year strategic and master site plans for the hospital.
Before joining the Grosse Pointe administrative team, she was an administrative director at Beaumont in Royal Oak; an assistant hospital director at Beaumont in Troy; director of patient registration at Troy; and administrative director of the Family Medicine Center and residency program at Troy. She first joined Beaumont as a department secretary in family medicine.
She is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. She earned her bachelor’s in business administration from Walsh College and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Detroit.
