The weather was perfect for the Trenton Soroptimists’ 14th annual “Save the Girls” motorcycle rally, held on Sept. 9. The ride began at Taylor’s Biker Bob’s and ended at Big Al’s Sports Bar in Rockwood.
There were 110 motorcycles, which held more than 200 riders. Lofteez, an all-women band, volunteered to play for free. Everyone enjoyed the pizza, salad, and cookies after the ride. The event concluded with several types of raffles: spin the prize wheel, 50/50, wine cooler raffle, and a silent auction of several specialty items.
The Trenton Soroptimists wish to thank the police and Motown H.O.G. Chapter who acted as escorts, as well as Biker Bob’s and Big Al’s for hosting this grand fundraiser. All proceeds of the ride will benefit the worthy cause of raising awareness of women’s health issues, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
Mark your calendar for this upcoming Trenton Area Soroptimist event – “Battle for Freedom: Detroit Style.” It is a hair and fashion show with local salons competing to style the best models. The date is Jan. 27 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn.
