WHAT’S UP AT AMS?
Arthur’s has had a great time throughout the month of October, mainly because of Homecoming week, which means it’s also spirit week at Arthur’s Middle School.
During this week students dressed according to what the dress code for that day might be. On Monday we wore “Tacky Tourist;” almost everybody wore some type of Hawaiian shirt and some even had a camera.
Tuesday was the day to be “Fanatic;” on this day students could represent their favorite sports team, super hero, book or movie character, or any other outfit that may show they’re a fan of something.
Wednesday was my personal favorite and I’m sure it was for many others as well — “Pink Out.” Not every student shows spirit on every day, but on pink out day, almost every student was doused in the appropriate color.
On “Throwback Thursday” students dressed as someone or something from the past.
Finally, on Friday, we supported our school by wearing blue and gold. Students tend to take this day seriously, because everyone loves the hometown Trojans/Knights.
Adding onto spirit week was a game between the student girls volleyball team and the staff and administration at AMS. This annual event is called the student vs. staff game, which is also done for the basketball players. The students managed to win one game while the staff won the other.
After this fun-filled week, we are looking forward to our next special event at school.
