The Lighthouse of Trenton became the latest recipient when owner Suzanne Wallace accepted the winner’s plaque at last month’s State of the City program.
Also nominated for the honor this year were Alterations and Sew Much More, Beverage Express, Captain’s Barber Shop, Round House BBQ, Timber’s Salon and West Grange Pharmacy.
Those businesses were nominated online in December and voting took place on Facebook in January. TBA President David Patz said it was a very close contest, with Alterations and Sew Much More and The Lighthouse running neck-and-neck during most of the voting period.
“I loved it,” said Alterations owner Suzanne Turgeon, “We are both Suzannes and we had a lot of fun with this. It was great to see all the wonderful comments about our business.”
The Lighthouse received 337 Facebook Likes, comments and shares as well as many wonderful comments, including notes such as, “Lighthouse Trenton lights up my life,” “By far the best business in Trenton” “…. Hardworking, genuine people with a passion for what they do… “Best lighting store! Quality people, quality product — all my lamps in my home are from The Lighthouse and all my exceptional outdoor lighting as well…”
And the list goes on, you can view them on Facebook. The comments can still be viewed on the TBA’s Facebook page.
“I am so very honored for this award, and like my friend Suzanne, am just in awe of all the comments, shares and likes we received. Thank you all,” Wallace said.
