Resident develops passion for walking
BY KATHY KANE
This neighbor is an avid walker and participates in many of the Healthy Trenton initiatives. You may have met her where she enjoys her literary career at the Trenton Veterans Library, or maybe you know her family or have read about her daughters here in the Trib. Meet Lynda Wiltse.
So, have you always lived in Trenton?
Lynda Wiltse: No, I did live in Brownstown for two years, but my family and I have called Trenton home for the past 25 years. Trenton has so much to offer, from festivals to exciting sports. It is so fun to watch and participate. I love being here!
Tell us about your family.
Wiltse: My family is truly a blessing from God. Tom and I have been married 31 years and we have four wonderful daughters: Rachel, Marissa, Sarah and Jessica. They all graduated from Trenton High School but no longer live in the area, though we get together frequently to celebrate birthdays and holidays.
I understand you are part of the Healthy Trenton walking groups. How did you get started in that?
Wiltse: I got started when I attended the Healthy Trenton 5K at St. Paul Church. My walking club usually consists of my family and sometimes a few friends. I love walking every day and being outdoors. I love watching the geese on the path and once we saw a shooting star. I just won the FitBit from Healthy Trenton for turning in our walking progress card, so I am super excited.
Tell us something people would not know about you.
Wiltse: On our honeymoon, my husband and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, and the World Fair was in town. We also visited Victoria Island, Banaff and Calgary, such beautiful country. I feel like we started our marriage with the peace and blessings of our neighbor, Canada.
