The Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber annual Women of Achievement Awards luncheon, presented by Beaumont, will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Holiday Inn Conference & Banquet Center in Southgate.
Chamber officials said the event will showcase outstanding women in business in the Downriver region. The event will include a keynote address featuring Donna Inch, former CEO and chairman of Dearborn-based Ford Land. The keynote will be followed by lunch, and a awards ceremony complete with award recipient videos and a grand experience.
The chamber will proudly recognize some of the most outstanding women in the region with the “Leadership Award,” “Entrepreneur Award,” and “Unsung Heroine Award.” Of course, men will not be left out as we honor a leader in our community who is a champion for women in business leadership with the “Community Award.”
“We are honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize some of the most influential women in our Downriver region with this prestigious awards luncheon,” said Ronald Hinrichs, president of the commerce. “We are grateful for our friends and partners at Beaumont, our Gold Sponsor Henry Ford College, and our Silver Sponsors BASF Corp. and Wayne County Community College District for making this wonderful event possible!”
This year’s recipients include Kathy Kane, co-publisher of the Trenton Trib newspaper and owner of Trenton-based Market Insights, recipient of the Leadership Award; Laurie Dixon, owner of Savannah’s restaurant in Trenton, recipient of the Entrepreneur Award; Leah Cooley of Services To Enhance Potential, a local nonprofit agency, recipient of the Unsung Heroine Award; and Dr. Stan Jensen, president of Henry Ford College in Dearborn, recipient of the Community Award.
