If you are looking a quick blast of summer in the middle of winter grab your beach gear and head “north” to Southgate Feb. 8 for Trenton Rotary’s seventh annual Winter Beach Blast, which will be held from 6 p.m.-midnight at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center.
And, at just $45 a person, it might just be the most affordable winter vacation available.
Ticket pricing includes a quantity discount for those who really want to make it a “party.” One to nine tickets are $45 each in advance. Ten to 19 tickets are $40 each, making this a very affordable value for an evening.
Many people who have attended prior Winter Beach Blasts have used the event as a very practical venue for a company party or an opportunity to entertain their family, friends and clients.
In any case, the event has been widely lauded as a great way to break free of the winter doldrums with an evening designed to feel like an actual beach party.
Partygoers will enjoy a dinner buffet, open bar, Hula Hoop contest, photo booth, best-dressed contest, limbo contest, live performances and those who purchase a table can bring their beach-theme designed centerpiece for a chance to win two tickets to next year’s event!
The band “Remedy” will play at 10 p.m., featuring the stylings of international recording artist Karin Elizabeth on electric violin and fiddle, Larry Braden is on lead guitar, Billy DeAngelo on drums Dave Cowie on the keyboards and piano and Nick Cole-Klaes on bass. Remedy is one of Detroit’s most unique bands. With its professional, high-energy sound and widely-varied musical selection, the group entertains audiences of all ages, delivering a fresh and exciting assortment of tunes from the 1960s through today’s hits.

The event also will feature silent and “SUPER MEGA” silent auctions throughout the evening, as well as a variety of prize drawings.
